Ingredients

4 cups water
4 cloves fresh garlic, lightly crushed
2 teaspoons dried oregano (or 2 tablespoons fresh oregano leaves)
2 cinnamon sticks (or 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon)
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (optional)
1 teaspoon honey (optional, added after cooling slightly)
Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Equipment Needed
Medium saucepan
Fine mesh strainer
Measuring spoons
Wooden spoon
Serving mugs

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Garlic
Peel the garlic cloves.

Lightly crush them with the side of a knife to release their natural oils.

Step 2: Heat the Water
Pour the water into a saucepan.

Bring it to a gentle boil.

Step 3: Add the Ingredients
Reduce the heat.

Add:

Crushed garlic
Oregano
Cinnamon sticks
Allow the mixture to simmer gently for 10–15 minutes.

Step 4: Strain
Remove the saucepan from the heat.

Strain the infusion into a heatproof pitcher or directly into serving mugs.

Step 5: Finish
Allow the drink to cool slightly.

If desired, stir in:

Honey
Lemon juice
Garnish with fresh mint leaves before serving.
